Black Sabbath To Make Announcement on 11/11/11!

Black Sabbath

After months of individual members of Black Sabbath fanning the flames of the rumour mill it looks like the reformation of the World's first "Heavy Metal" band is actually on!

The official Black Sabbath website,, now only shows the Sabbath logo and the date, 11/11/11.

The date of 11/11/11 occurs only once every century, so the day warrants an important message that may only be announced once in a century. At 11:11 Pacific Time on 11/11/11, the four founders of Black Sabbath - Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward will be present a press conference, which will be hosted by Henry Rollins, at a private event held at Hollywood’s Whisky A Go Go. The Whisky A Go Go was where Black Sabbath made their LA debut on 11th November 1970.

In August 2011, the Birmingham Mail announced that the original lineup of Black Sabbath would reunite to create a new album and quoted guitarist Tony Iommi as saying, "It’s all been very hush-hush. Ozzy’s been the worst at trying to hold it back. He’s doing a lot of TV and he’s being asked stuff about a reunion and he’s going ‘well I never say never."

Iommi then claimed that he was misquoted during a conversation with a Birmingham journalist. Ozzy Osbourne however later stated that a Sabbath reunion was a "very, very strong possibility," and that it was in its "early stages."
