Anvil Respond To Departure Of Bassist Glenn Five!

Glenn Five - Lips Kudlow - Anvil

Lips Kudlow has responded to the recent departure of Anvil's bass player, Glenn Gyorffy (stage name Glenn Five) and his replacement by Sal Italiano, by posting a scathing update on the Official Anvil Facebook page stating that, "It is a huge improvement with our new guy both musically as well as personally!"

Gyorffy had spent nearly 16 years in the role of bassist with Anvil and had stuck with them through some of the low points in the Canadian bands career, some of which was documented in the documentary, 'Anvil - The Story Of Anvil' , which kickstarted their career all over again.

Gyorffy's official statement said that, "He felt limited creatively with Anvil" and continued, "I have a wide taste in music and I feel that it’s time to broaden my horizons."

Kudlows full response read, "We hired an old friend to do the tour and are currently working with a new improved bassist. There was no major issue in fixing this at all and in fact everything was sorted out within a few hours of Glenn departing. Glenn tried to make it difficult by leaving without proper notice but we’ve been preparing for this for quite sometime. This did end up for the better as it is a huge improvement with our new guy both musically as well as personally."

Anvil's latest recording, 2011's ‘Juggernaut of Justice,’ reached number 12 on the Billboard Chart and the band kicks off a new US tour on January 27th in Ohio.
