AC/DC Drummer Opening New Restaurant In NZ!

Phil Rudd

Later this month, AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd is opening his new restaurant, Phil's Place, in Tauranga, New Zealand. To mark the occasion, he has invited his AC/DC bandmates to join him for the grand opening.

Rudd himself oversaw the redesign of the interior and has promised a fine-dining establishment with private booths, specialising in steak and seafood.

Rudd told the Bay of Plenty Times, "We have completely re-kitted the inside. I want it to be more than a restaurant - a whole dining experience. I have focused on the visuals, the sound, the smell and of course the taste. It will be a place that will blow your mind."

Rudd has lived in Tauranga for nearly 30 years and wants the restaurant to contribute to the economic sustainability of the area.

Rudd said, "I do want to give back to the community, and have plans which I think will really give a boost to the local economy. The restaurant is just the first step."
