RUSH To Receive RJD Lifetime Achievement Award!
Canadian progressive rock trio RUSH will receive the Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award, at the fourth annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards ceremony, set to take place at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on April 11th 2012.
The award will be presented to the band by lifetime RUSH fans, Jack Black and Kyle Gass from comedy rock act Tenacious D. Jack Black features strongly in the award winning RUSH documentary, 'Beyond The Lighted Stage' and enthusiastically praises RUSH throughout!
RUSH drummer Neil Peart says, "We're honoured and delighted to receive this honour, especially because it will be presented by Jack and Kyle. Our ‘lifetimes’ are not over yet, and we dearly hope our ‘achievements’ are not either, so I suppose you could say that to us this is the ‘So Far, So Good’ award."
On RUSH Jack Black says, "Rush was the most impressive band, musically, when I was just learning about rock. Weirdly, they got your body moving in interpretive-dancing ways, but it was still aggressive. Their stuff was just so complex and so tasty!"
The Revolver Golden Gods Awards will be broadcast live on XBox Live and also on the official Facebook pages for XBox and Revolver. Yngwie Malmsteen and Dee Snider are among the other rock acts who will be appearing and performing at the Golden Gods Awards.
‘Clockwork Angels,’ the eagerly awaited new album from RUSH, is expected to be released on May 29th 2012, with a World tour expected to follow starting in the Autumn.
