Chris Cornell Soundgarden

The Keeper, a song composed by Chris Cornell for the soundtrack for the controversial new Gerard Butler film, Machine Gun Preacher, has been released as a charity single to raise money for the Angels of East Africa organisation.

The movie, directed by Marc Forster and due to be released on September 23rd, tells the true story of drug-dealer, Sam Childers, who realising the errors of his ways, turns his life around and fights to save orphaned children in Sudan.

Forster says, "We were thrilled when Chris wrote this beautiful and heartfelt song for us. The first time I heard ‘The Keeper,’ I immediately saw it in the movie. Chris was able to articulate the essence of Sam’s story."

Also featured in the soundtrack are Asche & Spencer and the 60-piece Slovak National Symphony Orchestra.
